My Joli Friends is our caring community of mums and dads sharing their own parenting experience.
Today we are very happy to welcome Asmaa in My Joli Friends‘ community!
Seeing all the health imbalances (allergies, eczema, asthma, digestive or hormonal issues and more) that find their roots in early childhood diet or even in the food choices of the pregnant/breastfeeding mother leads Asmaa to raise awareness about the naturopathic approach that prevents and can help the body to heal.
Job 1: Mummy of three global citizens (between 12 and 18 years old)
Job 2: Naturopathic Chef & Food Consultant (Founder of Authentik Spoon)
What would be your best advice to a mum to be ?
Taste buds appear at 2 months of gestation. By the end of the 3rd month, a fetus is not only able to swallow, but also to taste!
Flavors from the pregnant-mother’s diet are transmitted to amniotic fluid and swallowed by the fetus. Therefore, the types of food eaten by women during pregnancy are also experienced by the infants in utero before their first exposure to solid foods later on.
My best advice is to enjoy different natural flavors during pregnancy as this will create lasting memories in their baby. Make sure to include flavorful seeds (such as aniseed, cumin), spices (such as saffron, ginger, turmeric) and aromatics (such as onion, garlic, celery) in your normal diet.
What is the worst young parent advice you were given ?
Your baby needs formula-milk and some baby cereals to be fully satiated and sleep through the night.
Mama Bear or Mama cool?
A bit of both!
What could you bring to the “mum-to-be” or “nursing mums” community through your expertise/job/activity?
As we are bio-individuals, my main focus is Personalised Food for Health Consulting where I investigate my patients food diary and lifestyle for possible sources of disruption and imbalances before we establish a plan to help them create healthy habits to reduce inflammation, gain energy, balance their hormones, etc.
I also offer Group Masterclasses to expand my patients food knowledge and discover how health-promoting foods and preparation technics can prevent disease or rebalance back the body to homeostasis.
Where can we find you?
